Material Problems
For unexpected color or transfer on a specific blank, verify material and coating identity, preparation, lot, and approved preset before changing the image.
If the same image succeeds on one blank but fails on another, check coating, surface color, moisture, storage, and lot. A material substitution may require a new profile or process proof even when the JPEG is unchanged.
Test a known-good image on the suspect material and, if safe and available, the same image on approved reference stock. This isolates substrate effects such as coating variation or base-color influence. Record lot and storage conditions. If the material is not specified for the process, stop rather than spending more blanks adjusting the JPEG to mask an incompatible combination.
