Using a generic preset without checking the model, software, consumables, maintenance state, and current manual.
An operator may use a familiar preset on a different machine, software version, ink, or stock. Document the exact approved setup and ensure safety controls are active before comparing image outcomes.
A machine preset is part of a validated chain. Reusing a profile or transfer setting on a different device, ink, media, or software revision can change color and finish. Check maintenance and calibration before blaming the file. Never bypass safety, ventilation, or material limits to make a JPEG appear closer to a screen preview.
