Badges
i.Learning Badges
A future JPEG learning badge should require completed lessons and a knowledge check; do not display it as earned from reading alone.
A JPEG learning badge could recognize completion of the foundational lessons and a check on key misconceptions. It should signal file-format knowledge, not professional print certification. If the site uses tiered badges, the badge criteria should increase in difficulty and show the learner what is needed for the next tier. This guide does not create or award the badge by itself.
ii.Skill Badges
A future file-preparation badge should require an inspected export and assessment evidence.
A preparation skill badge should require an actual inspected derivative and product-specific decisions, not only a successful upload. A higher tier might require adaptations for multiple products and a documented maker handoff. The badge description should say what the holder demonstrated so buyers and makers do not mistake it for approval to operate equipment.
iii.Challenge Badges
If JPEG challenges are built, use the platform's existing tier rules rather than creating a duplicate one-off badge.
Challenge badges can use the existing Goodiee tier model once JPEG interactive tasks are implemented. A tier should reflect completed, validated challenges of increasing complexity, not repeated clicks on the same easy task. Redoing a challenge remains useful for practice, but award logic should prevent duplicate credit for an unchanged completion. No JPEG challenge badge is asserted live here.
iv.Project Badges
A future project badge would require a completed, assessed JPEG handoff project.
A project badge can recognize a finished, reviewed artifact such as a two-product photographic handoff. The evidence should include source provenance, separate JPEG derivatives, crop and size notes, and assessment of the stated constraints. A future higher tier could require a controlled proof analysis. The site should not show a project badge until the underlying project and review flow exist.
v.Mastery Badges
Reserve mastery for demonstrated repeatable work, not a single successful export.
Mastery should reflect repeated performance across format choice, export, handoff, and troubleshooting. A learner might pass several scenarios with different products and explain why one requires a format other than JPEG. This is more meaningful than an award for simply reading a long guide. Machine operation and safety remain separate qualifications with their own evidence.
