Before you start
- Verified Supplier access and a CSV editor.
- At most 250 data rows and a UTF-8 CSV file no larger than 1,000,000 bytes.
- Accurate units, prices, minimum orders, specifications, and images.
What you will be able to do
- Use the supply-specific schema.
- Avoid piece/pack/case and dollar/cent errors.
- Finish imported inventory drafts before review.
Step by step
Step 1: Download the supplier template
In My supplies, find Import supplies from CSV and choose Download CSV template. The supplier template differs from the creator's goodie template. Normal suppliers import their own inventory; staff may see a separate Import on behalf of owner selector.
Open this screen →Check: The headers begin with title, description, type, subtype, and unit_label.
Step 2: Fill the supply identity and category
Complete title, description, type, and subtype. Use a subtype that belongs to the selected supply category. Consult the template and importer choices rather than creating arbitrary taxonomy values.
Check: The category and subtype identify a supported supply.
Step 3: Enter selling-unit prices and minimum quantities
Use unit_label, price_usd, and minimum_order_quantity. Enter price_usd in dollars for the complete selling unit. MOQ must be a whole number of at least one. For a case containing 36 pieces, the case price is not the price per loose piece.
Check: One priced unit and the MOQ use the same unit.
Step 4: Add stock and lead time where known
The template includes lead_time_days and available_quantity; leave an optional unknown value blank rather than inventing it. Use nonnegative whole numbers when supplied and count stock in the priced selling unit. A value of zero is different from an unknown value.
Check: The file does not turn unknown availability into fabricated stock.
Step 5: Add optional specifications carefully
Use unit_type and quantity_included to explain packs or cases. Add brand, manufacturer_sku, paired measurement values/units, dimensions, material_composition, color_finish, paired weight/unit, country_of_origin, and safety_certifications where accurate. Use supported unit values and a full country name.
Check: Measurements have units, included quantity is a positive whole number, and specifications are evidence-based.
Step 6: Export and upload the CSV
Preserve the headers, quote cells that contain commas, and export CSV rather than a spreadsheet workbook. Keep within 250 data rows and 1,000,000 bytes. Upload the file in the importer and inspect its preview.
Check: The preview rows show the intended supplies, quantities, and prices.
Step 7: Resolve or document invalid rows
Read the reported row numbers and messages. Use Download error report for the complete list. Fix the source and re-upload when possible. If you proceed with valid rows, invalid rows are skipped; they do not become hidden drafts.
Check: You understand the valid/invalid counts and any skipped products.
Step 8: Import valid drafts only once
Choose Import valid drafts and wait for the created/skipped result. The action creates supply drafts, not approved products. Re-importing a previous successful batch can create extra drafts, so reconcile the result before retrying.
Check: My supplies contains the expected imported drafts.
Step 9: Add images and submit each completed supply
Open each draft, check its specifications, selling unit, price, MOQ, stock, lead time, and preview, and add a product image. Use the item's Review submission control to enter Pending review; no CSV row is automatically published.
Open this screen →Check: Each intended item has its own recorded listing-review status.
