Before you start
- Creator access and a CSV editor.
- At most 250 data rows and a UTF-8 CSV file no larger than 1,000,000 bytes.
- Production files and images to add after importing.
What you will be able to do
- Prepare the real creator CSV schema.
- Understand skipped invalid rows and draft creation.
- Finish and publish imported drafts individually.
Step by step
Step 1: Open the creator importer and download its template
In My listings, find Import listings from CSV and choose Download CSV template. Use the downloaded headers and examples rather than reusing the supplier schema. Keep a copy before changing the file.
Open this screen →Check: The file is the creator listings template, not a supplier inventory template.
Step 2: Fill the three required columns
Use goodie_name, description, and product_type. The product type must resolve to a supported group/type pair, such as the template's Drinkware:Mugs example. A free-text product invented in your spreadsheet is not automatically a supported catalog type.
Check: Every intended row contains a meaningful title, description, and supported product type.
Step 3: Add supported production and earnings details
Optional columns are art_styles, production_method, materials, colors, sizes, production_instructions, production_readiness, and earnings_usd. Use the supported values and aliases shown by the importer/template. Separate multiple list values with |. Enter earnings_usd in dollars, such as 4.50, not cents or a buyer retail total.
Check: The optional values match the intended goodie and production method.
Step 4: Keep valid CSV structure
Export as CSV, not XLSX. Keep the header row intact. Quote a cell containing a comma or line break and double an embedded quote. Keep the file within 250 data rows and 1,000,000 bytes. Avoid adding formula cells in place of literal values.
Check: The resulting file can be read as rows and columns, rather than as one large cell.
Step 5: Upload and review validation
Use Upload and review in the importer. Inspect the valid draft preview, row numbers, and validation errors before importing. Fix the original file and upload it again when a row is wrong; do not assume an invalid row will be repaired automatically.
Check: You know which rows are valid and which will be skipped.
Step 6: Import the intended valid drafts once
Choose the control to import valid drafts and wait for the result. Invalid rows can be skipped while valid rows are created. Record the created and skipped counts before retrying; re-importing the same valid rows can create additional drafts.
Check: The created/skipped result matches your intended batch.
Step 7: Finish every imported goodie
Open each draft from My listings. Add its production file and buyer images, confirm product and method compatibility, review earnings and the preview, then use Publish goodie when complete. CSV import does not publish or attach local files automatically.
Open this screen →Check: Only individually completed and published drafts are treated as published listings.
Schema reference
- Required headers: goodie_name, description, product_type.
- Optional headers: art_styles, production_method, materials, colors, sizes, production_instructions, production_readiness, earnings_usd.
- List separator: |. Use the current template and importer validation for supported category, process, material, and readiness values.
- Creator and supplier imports have different price meanings and column names; do not interchange them.
