What a PNG contains
PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics. It is a raster format, so it stores a fixed grid of pixels instead of editable vector paths, embroidery stitches, cut paths, toolpaths, or three-dimensional geometry.

Pixels and physical size
Pixel width and height describe how much raster information the file contains. Effective resolution depends on both the pixel dimensions and the final physical size.

Transparency is not white
Transparent pixels allow the product or background beneath the artwork to show through. White pixels remain visible image content. Partially transparent edge pixels can also affect halos, underbases, and compositing.

- 2Check its pixel dimensions.
- 3View it over light, dark, and colored backgrounds.
- 4Confirm the intended final size and product.
- 5Keep the editable source file for future revisions.
