Lesson goal
By the end, you should be able to explain and apply the ideas in this lesson to a real production file.
A valid PNG is only the first gate
Technical inspection can confirm dimensions, color type, bit depth, alpha behavior, profile information, physical-pixel metadata, and file integrity. It cannot prove that a selected machine, material, product, and process will produce an acceptable result.
Control the complete process
- 1Lock the approved file and revision.
- 2Record the software, profile, preset, and automatic adjustments.
- 3Record the machine, maintenance state, material, lot, and preparation.
- 4Define measurable acceptance criteria.
- 5Run a controlled proof or first article.
- 6Inspect under defined conditions.
- 7Release production only after approval.
Troubleshoot with evidence
Begin with an objective defect statement. Contain affected work, compare the approved file with the software preview and physical result, then classify possible file, software, machine, material, process, and inspection causes.
- 1Define the defect and acceptance requirement.
- 2Contain affected units.
- 3Gather file and production records.
- 4Rank plausible causes.
- 5Run one controlled test.
- 6Apply the evidence-supported correction.
- 7Verify a new acceptable result.
- 8Update the control that failed.
